khaki is a band formed in 2018. Their sound originates from Tokyo in the 2020s, combining melodic pop aiming for universality, indie rock, and the richness of Japanese.

Please tell us about the timing and the reason why you started your music career.
Hiroki Kuroha(Ba)
I started composing music when I was in junior high school with a synthesizer game called Korg DS-10. That's when I started composing.
Takumi Hashimoto(Dr)
I joined the drumming club at my high school. and joined the club.
Naoto Hirakawa(Gt.vo)
When I was in high school, I started playing the guitar because it seemed to be the easiest way to start a band.
Hiroto Nakashio(Gt.vo)
I used to play the guitar by myself, but in junior high school, I was suddenly invited by a classmate to join a band.

Please tell us about the parts of the chart-topping song "Wheel" that you want us to pay attention to.
Hiroki Kuroha(Ba)
In this song, we tried to keep the bass simple. We also mixed the song ourselves, so I hope you'll pay attention to the combination of sounds.
Takumi Hashimoto(Dr)
I tried to keep the drums tight and simple.
The interlude before the last chorus gets me excited even when I listen to it myself.
Naoto Hirakawa(Gt.vo)
I think all parts of the song are excellent, but I think the lyrics are especially wonderful.
Hiroto Nakashio(Gt.vo)
I like the balance between unsettling and pop, and I'd be happy if you could listen to the whole song, which is just over five minutes long.
