This time, we asked Cody Lee, who was ranked No. 1 on the College Chart on January 9th, to answer three questions!
◇Three questions
When and why did you start your music career?
First of all, my parents were in a band. When I was in junior high school, my father introduced me to Fuji Fabric, and I became very passionate about the band, so I formed a copy band with my friends and performed "Dawn Beat" in front of all the students at the Sansei-kai (a party to send off third-year students). After that, I began to seriously aspire to become a musician.
Who are some of the artists that have influenced you?
For Japanese music, I like Fuji Fabric, GREAT3, Kururi, SPARTA LOCARS, Hatsukoi no Arashi, etc. For Western music, I like Bjork, Gorillaz, Sigur Ros, etc. I am influenced by them.

Please tell us about the part of the charting song "Shiroku Naranai" that you want us to pay attention to.
At first you might think, "A song about lost love...", but I like the way the definition of the subject gradually expands. I also like the chorus at the beginning and the end because it gives the feeling of winter. It is a warm song like a letter.

Cody Lee (Lee)
Formed in 2018 by two college friends.
They have been performing live in Tokyo, and have been slowly gaining attention through word of mouth from rock fans, and in 2019, they will be performing at the rock festival "BAYCAMP".
In 2020, Reno Ozaki, who is also active as a solo singer-songwriter, officially joined the band, and the independent label "sakuramachi records" (named after a place in Iwate Prefecture, Takahashi's hometown) was launched.
The following year, the band held their first tour in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, and received a flood of applications, far exceeding the number of tickets required.
At the final concert, Kei Nishima, who had supported the band as a support bassist, was announced to officially join the band, and the current lineup was formed.
With the release of their music video on YouTube, the band was supported by users from all over the world, including the U.S. and Taiwan, and the comment section was constantly filled with messages in various languages.
The band's sound, created by the strong personalities of the five members, paints a picture of life in the minds of listeners, and is a leading candidate for a breakthrough in the rock scene.
