In October 2018, Cobalt boy started their activities with the current members Yukitaka Mori (v.g), Beruko (bass), Alai (dr) and Motoko (key).
They answered three questions from CRJAFUKUOKA!
◇Three questions
When and why did you start your music career?
Yukitaka Mohri: I started playing the Yamaha Electone when I was four years old. I quit before I went to elementary school.
MOTOKO: I went to Yamaha Electone classes from the age of three until junior high school. I started playing the drums in high school, and in the light music club in college, I played the drums all the time.
Alai: I started playing the drums because I admired Koichi Kawanishi of UNICORN.
Beruko: Third year of junior high school when I was given an electric bass by a friend who was bored with it.
Who are some of the artists that have influenced you?
Yukitaka Mohri: When I was making the album "SANSO", which contains this song, I was listening to frank ocean, joji, Solange, Tatsuro Yamashita, My Bloody Valentine, etc.
MOTOKO：キーボードのプレイスタイルで大きな影響を受けていると思うのはpre-school。昔から聴いているnikakoiはシンセのアレンジにも若干影響しているかも。
アライ：Belle&Sebastian、Galaxie500、最近だとBig Thief。
べるこ：GOING STEADY
Please tell us about the part of the chart-topping song "Swim Good" that you want us to pay attention to.
Yukitaka Mohri: At the end of 2020, when Corona was a little calmer, I performed at a live house called Himitsu for the first time in 8 months, and I wrote the lyrics remembering the people who were dancing on the floor of the live house at that time. It reminded me of the people who were dancing on the floor of the live house at that time, so I wrote the lyrics. It was a moment when I felt the joy of live performance again.
MOTOKO: It's a summery song, but I want people to listen to it even after the weather gets colder, so I added some heavy synth sounds to make it not too refreshing. I'd like you to listen to it while drinking soda in a heated room during this season.
Alai: It's an ambitious piece of work where the small swells created by the guitars and synths overlapping and replacing each other over and over again develop into a big wave in the second half.
Beruko: I used the bass to express the rhythm that makes you want to shake your body, and the fine nuance of water splashing. The wave-like feeling from the interlude to the big chorus is so good!

In October 2018, they started their activities with the current members Yukitaka Mouri (v.g), Beruko (Bass), Alai (Dr), and Motoko (key).
In May 2019, the single "hiyodori naiteru" was released for distribution, and in December, "hiyodori naiteru EP" was released for distribution and CD.
They will perform "Utopia" in February 2020, "Cherry Blossoms Fall and Spring" in April 2020, "Utopia (Remix)" in June 2020, "A Drawing Boy" in August 2020, and "fondant" in June 2021.
In September 2021, their first album "SANSO" will be released from ROSE RECORDS in CD, digital and analog formats.
