Although they have been together for only half a year, downt's first album released in October of this year drew a lot of attention due to its strong musicality, and they have quickly become a band to watch in the indie scene.

This time, CRJAFUKUOKA asked them to answer three questions about their music, which was ranked No. 1 on the college chart on November 14!

When and why did you start your music career?

A band is fine.

This is the first band Togashi has ever been in, and he's always wanted to be in a band.

I started because I wanted to be popular.

I've never heard of Robert, but I think he'd be popular even if he didn't play in a band.

Who are some of your influences?

I think Togashi said he likes Masdre, Rega and NOT WONK.

Recently, he said that Faraquet is good.

Please tell us what you want us to pay attention to in the charting song "111511".

I don't have a particular part that I want people to pay attention to, so I think it's best to let people listen to it freely.

I think the most important parts are the songs, lyrics, and riffs, but I think that's too obvious to answer the question, so I'll go a little more in-depth.

The song that took me the longest to pre-process, I wanted to make it in a way that was not emo or alternative, but it didn't work out so well. While I was going through a lot of trial and error, I told Togashi that the fuzz at 2:09 was useless and that I should stop playing it, and he got really angry. Then I realized that he was only thinking about the fuzz, and the arrangement progressed quickly and the song was completed. So I stuck to the challenge of expressing that sounds other than fuzz are meaningless, but it's the meaninglessness that makes them wonderful.
